KOTA KINABALU | Eight people were nabbed in Lahad Datu for violating the movement control order (MCO) at about 11am on Saturday (March 28).
Six of them were working at a workshop while the other two were their employers.
Lahad Datu OCPD Asst Comm Nasri Mansor said that when asked, the workers said their boss instructed them to work despite the MCO.
“They claimed that their bosses would not pay them if they did not turn up for work as their salaries are on a daily basis, ” he said.
He said the six people aged between 19 and 37 have been going to work since March 23.
ACP Nasri said four of them are Malaysians while two are Indonesians.
The employers are siblings aged 47 and 50.
All of them will be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.
ACP Nasri advised the public to adhere to the MCO.
