He said in a statement that a team of firemen from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene and arrived at 7.17 am with 10 officers and members.
He also adds that the victim, who was 21 years old man was stuck on a fiber-pulling machine while working.
Hafisham also said that it took the firemen 10 minutes to remove the victim from the fiber machine.
“Preliminary examination found that the victim suffered severe injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene by an officer of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).
“The victim’s body was then taken to Shah Alam Hospital for further action,” he said.
According to him, the case was then handed over to the police for further action.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), the law has allowed employees to ‘remove’ themselves from an imminent danger which refers to a serious risk of death or serious bodily injury if the employer refuses to take action after being informed about the danger.
Those who remove themselves from such danger are expressly protected under the Amended OSHA from “undue consequences” and discrimination.
Employers must also provide their employees with a workplace that does not have serious hazards and must follow all OSHA safety and health standards.
