IPOH: Grab your resume! West Coast Expressway (WCE) Sdn Bhd is offering 120 job opportunities.
The interview sessions will take place at the Teluk Intan Municipal Council rest house tomorrow, Inderawati Beruas Hall on Saturday and Manjung Municipal Council Hall on Sunday, from 9am to 4pm.
State Human Capital Development, Sports and Youth committee chairman Howard Lee Chuan How said there would be more openings for positions such as customer service officer, supervisor, executive and technician when the expressway is completed by the end of May.
He said locals would be given priority, and those who were hired would be offered a retirement package, allowance, overtime, medical benefits, insurance and other benefits.
The 223km WCE stretches from Jalan Banting-KLIA (B18) to the Tanjong Karang interchange (93.8km) in Selangor and from Jalan Persekutuan (FR5) in Hutan Melintang to the Changkat Jering Plaza Toll (139.2km) in Perak.
Once the expressway was ready, Lee said it would only take 45 minutes to travel from Klang to Sekinchan in Selangor, and about an hour from Kuala Lumpur to Manjung, Perak.
The company’s managing director Datuk Neoh Soon Hiong said they would do their utmost to ensure that the expressway would be ready by the end of May, before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays on June 4 and 5.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the project would increase the value of properties along the west coast of Selangor and Perak.
“The state government and state planning unit are drafting new developments along the WCE expressway line so that it will bring benefits to the local people,” he said.
