Recently, the Human Resources Minister, YB Kula Segaran met with Heads of HR and other representatives of multinational corporations (MNC) organised by the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) to discuss about the pending various amendments to Acts under the Ministry of Human Resources.
Many topics on these amendments were discussed especially to do with labour laws, foreign workers, increased cost for companies in doing business and how to mitigate these costs as well as the cumulative effects of these amendments.
The Minister and his team explained their rationale on these amendments but listened to their suggestions and even expressed that we are open to re-looking at certain amendments.
Clarifying on certain matters, YB Kula Segaran assured that there no new policy on employment passes for expatriate workers and category III remains and everything remains status quo.
“We are firm in maintaining a healthy business environment in Malaysia for local companies and MNCs.” he added.
