PETALING JAYA | The last Tuesday of July has been declared a public holiday in conjunction with the coronation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Ismail said the additional public holiday was made under Section 8 of the Holidays Act 1951 for Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan.

He added that for the states of Sabah and Sarawak, the state government could take action based on its own state laws.
