PETALING JAYA | The Star Education Fair is back.

For the first time ever, visitors can access hundreds of courses, programmes and scholarships with the click of a mouse and from the comfort of their homes.

After 33 years of successful education shows since 1987, Star Media Group (SMG) is inviting students and parents to its inaugural Star Virtual Education Fair from May 29 to May 31.

Describing it as a “one-stop” education event, SMG Marketing senior general manager Christine Chang said the Star Virtual Education Fair would allow students to explore their options and future pathways safely in light of the global Covid-19 pandemic and conditional movement control order (MCO).

“This virtual exhibition is the perfect platform for students, schoolleavers, parents and those interested in furthering their studies to obtain the latest information from the biggest selection of exhibitors under one virtual roof.

“They get to discover a wide range of education options provided by over 40 local and international higher learning institutions such as Taylor’s University, HELP University, UOW Malaysia KDU, Swinburne University, International Medical University, UNITAR, and Curtin University Malaysia, ” she said, adding that the online event could help to point them towards the right career path.

Chang said students could download university brochures, book campus tours (for after MCO) and instantly connect to education counsellors in real time.

For more information on the study programmes, she urged students to tune in to webinars and career guidance talks that would be held throughout the three-day virtual event.

“Students can gain information on their preferred courses through webinars that will run from 10am to 7pm daily.

“During these 50-minute sessions, varsity representatives will offer their insights on selected courses.

“There will also be career guidance talks throughout the fair, ” she said, adding that at the end of the fair, there would be a lucky draw while freebies would be given out daily to those who register and participate in webinars.

Three lucky winners stand to win a Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite each, depending on how actively they participate in the webinars.

Daily freebies up for grabs include Huawei Cloud 40GB High IO Storage, a US$200 (RM870) Huawei coupon that the first 100 daily registrants can use to redeem more cloud storage credits, and a 35% discount coupon for purchases on STM Goods’ Lazada store for those who register for webinars.

Powered by education online platform Uni Enrol, registration for the Star Virtual Education Fair is free.
