PETALING JAYA | Social Security Organisation (Socso) contributors in Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan can go for free Covid-19 screening starting Thursday (Oct 22).

“Employers can have their workers screened for free only at Socso healthcare services panel.

“They can arrange for screenings to be conducted at clinics, laboratories or at the workplace,” Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 21).

He also said that the Covid-19 Prihatin Screening Programme (PSP) had been extended to Socso contributors living in red zones.

“Following the announcement of Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Oct 20, the Human Resource Ministry would like to announce that the PSP is extended to contributors in areas under the conditional movement control order,” he said.

Apart from PSP, Socso is also offering subsidised screening under its Prihatin Screening Subsidy scheme.

“For the subsidised screening package, the cost will be initially borne by the employers and claims can be filed online at the Socso website, along with payment receipts,” he said.

He said Socso would subsidise employers RM150 for each employee who undergoes screening.

“Both these facilities (free and subsidised screening) can only be carried out through the employers,” he said.

PSP is also available to foreign workers in all sectors, and even those who had previously taken a Covid-19 test.

“Employers and employees are reminded to follow the standard operating procedure to avoid risk of transmission during the screening process,” he said.
